Acupuncture needles are sterile and used once. Needles are placed near the site of pain (locally) or along a channel some distance away (distally). Moxibustion, or burning Artemisia Vulgaris on the needle is often used in the treatment of pain.
Stones are used directly on acupoints or as an “elixir” to drink: they are sterilized in a UV autoclave between uses.
Chinese herbal formulae as pills or powders are available in the office. 100 single herbs in granules are in the office to mix for your unique blend.
Essential oils are applied to acupuncture points with glass wands that are sterilized in a UV autoclave between uses. There are more then 60 oils in the treatment room for use during a session. A quarter of these oils are suitable for children.
